Investigation of engine performance and emission parameters of a diesel engine fueled with Foeniculum vulgare oil biodiesel – ammonia mixtures

Past studies revealed that Foeniculum vulgare oil biodiesel (FVB) can be used as a good candidate for diesel fuels. Ammonia (NH3) fuel additive mixed with other fuels to eliminate some disadvantages of the in engine performance and emission. In view such information, this study aims investigate effects FVB NH3 on emission parameters Diesel-RK Programme. study, was different proportions (FVB100, FVB95A5, FVB90A10, FVB85A15 FVB80A20). The exhaust emissions (Oxides Nitrogen (NOx), Particulate Matter (PM) Smoke Opacity) (Specific Fuel Consumption (SFC), Power, Torque Volumetric Efficiency) were evaluated according combustion simulations RPM values. As result obtained results significantly decreased NOx parameter. However, when content increased, PM smoke opacity increased. For parameters, adversely affected power torque parameters. On hand, specific consumption volumetric efficiency showed an increment trend
